Congratulations to Lakeside Industries Inc. who won the award for their Field Trauma Kit for Worksites. This kit is designed to provide intermediate life support before paramedics arrive on the scene in the event of a traumatic workplace injury. It consists of a 10-gallon waterproof, yellow dry bag that is packed with various first-aid supplies for crews to use to provide advanced first aid. A member of the Seattle Fire Department assisted Lakeside in developing the contents of the kit which includes a satellite phone, a tourniquet, and extra gauze, among other items.
The award recognizes companies that develop innovative ideas or achieve practical outcomes leading to improved worker safety in a roadway, plant site or quarry environment, and whose safety practices are above and beyond normal safety practices.
